The Brubeck Project.

To many people, Dave Brubeck's “Take Five” is the sound of jazz. He is one of the most famous jazz composers and pianists of the second half of the 20th. century. Brubeck achieved fame and popularity with his Quartet playing such compositions as “Take Five”, “Blue Rondo a la Turk”, “Unsquare Dance” etc.
Now saxophonist Neil Maya has set out to recreate his music.Taking the part of Dave Brubeck (replacing Matt Carter) is fine pianist Paul Doolan. Paul initially specialized in the classical style of piano playing, as did Brubeck, before diversifying into the world of light music and jazz. Since moving to Somerset in 1993 he has built a reputation both as a solo player and accompanist. He has also worked as director of music for several well-known professional acts, and has travelled widely, both in the UK and abroad. This has included appearing at numerous theatres, stadiums and festivals.
The Quartet is completed by the fine bassist Kevin Sanders and highly experienced drummer Nick Carter to form a great quartet capable & worthy of performing Brubeck's music.

Not to be missed!
