Leader Mike Owen started playing trombone at age 8. By the time he was 12 he was listening to,and playing
New Orleans jazz,highly influenced by Kid Ory. In 1989 he moved to New Orleans, where he spent 10 years immersed
in the city and its music,playing & and recording with many local musicians.
Mike moved to Århus,Denmark in 2003 and formed his bands "The Bordello Bedwarmers" and "Woodland Jazz Band".
Gregory Boyd from New Orleans captures the Crescent City's history, culture, and heritage in his playing.
For over 10 years he has been living in Denmark, performing with his own band, and others, entertaining
audiences with his drum skills and vocals.
Ole Frank Sørensen has an authentic and tasteful approach towards the banjo in his role as part of the rhythm section.
Jesper Carlsen is one of the most sought after bass players in Denmark. He worked for 10 years with the
house trio at the legendary ”Bent J” jazz club in Aarhus, backing many soloists from America.
He captivates audiences with his technique and imaginative playing.
Guest star Derek Winters first visited New Orleans in 1973, meeting Brian Carrick,
and forming the Heritage Hall Stompers with him. The band played host to many jazz legends
including Alton Purnell, Thomas Jefferson, and Kid Thomas. He was a member of both the Dave Donahoe
and Chris Blount Bands and now lives in Cornwall, leading his own band ”Winter Sunshine”,
